Phoenix
By Samantha Bennett
Beauty,
Tucked in the ashes,
Hidden among the smolders,
Glowing and remembering,
So bright, so free.
Memories,
Harden and form,
With dashes of light,
Swelling from the dust,
Unfurling, like petals from a bulb,
A phoenix.

Oh, my gosh, that's beautiful! Did you write that recently?
PS. I'm a BIG Moosetracks ice cream fan! It's my all-time FAV.
I've never heard of Moosetracks ice cream but I LOVE all things ice cream. Lovely poetry--that's a great idea to keep writing even if a book idea hasn't hit you yet. :)
What a beautiful poem!!
I've also never heard of Moosetracks (hmmm, what planet am I on)...but indulge in a few more scoops and let the ideas flow!
The imagery in this is gorgeous. Wow. Seriously. I wish I could write poetry, it's so evocative. Or maybe thats just yours....
Jennifer Shirk: Yippee! A fellow Moosetracks fan!
Kristi Helvig: Oh, Kristi. If you like ice cream, you must try it!
Kittie Howard: Thank you so much!
Melissa: Gracias, amiga!
Pretty :) That's a great idea to write poems to fill in that in-between stories place. Keep your creativity going.
Lovely. I think writing poetry makes for better prose writers too. You go!
Cindy R. Wilson: Yes, anything to keep the creativity churning!
Lydia Kang: Thank you, amiga!
Beautiful. I love the unfurling image at the end!
I love me some moosetracks. Yum. Beautiful poem. Nice.
Samantha..you are tempting me to write poetry now, and let me tell you that I am no great poet.
Beautiful poem.
I love it! I wish I could write poetry, but alas, it is not in me!
Talli Roland: Thank you!
lotusgirl: Always nice to chat with a fellow Moosetracks enthusiast.
Rachna Chhabria: Write away!
Heather: Maybe deep down... :)
