Monday's experience was a bit different. Jon (my husband and quite possibly the most patient man in the world) and I made the 3-hour trek to Fort Lauderdale on a mission! Several u-turns later, I (read: Jon) had found all the rights spots and answered every question off my check list. What's more, I stood in the warm sand and admired the same waters as my character.
That kind of research--the kind that connects you with your character--is the rich stuff of writing.
Here are a few pictures from our trip to the Fort!
Ahhhhhh.

Super fun research! Nice that you were able to get the feel of your book's location!
It's great to do research where you wind up in places where you want to go to as badly as your character does. I can see how this would be 1 of those places! :)
Ah yes, that is the BEST kind of research! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
